Clarion Wedding
Clarion is a borough in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, about 100 miles (161 km) north-northeast of Pittsburgh and part of the Pittsburgh DMA. Clarion was settled in 1839 and incorporated in 1841. In the past, the surrounding area produced natural gas, oil, lumber and coal. Merely 2,004 persons lived there in 1900, and only 2,864 lived there in 1910. The population was 6,185 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Clarion CountyGR6, and the location of Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Clarion is located at 411242N, 79232W (41.211791, -79.384005)GR1.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 3.9 km (1.5 mi). 3.9 km (1.5 mi) of it is land and 0.1 km (0.04 mi) of it (1.97%) is water. As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 6,185 people, 2,000 households, and 718 families residing in the borough. The population density was 1,602.7/km (4,142.8/mi). There were 2,192 housing units at an average density of 568.0/km (1,468.2/mi). The racial makeup of the borough was 94.55% White, 3.48% African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.99% Asian, 0.15% from other races, and 0.76% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.82% of the population.
